Mark F. Copeland

Board Member

Mark is located in Dallas, TX and serves as the Transaction Advisory Services (TAS) CopelandManaging Partner for the Southwest Region. The Southwest Region TAS team consists of approximately 250 professionals located in Dallas, Houston, Austin, San Antonio, Denver, and Phoenix.

Prior to relocating to Dallas, Mark served as the Office Managing Partner for EY in Charlotte. The Charlotte office consisted of approximately 700 team members providing our clients with advisory, assurance, tax, and transaction advisory services. Mark has approximately twenty years of public accounting experience, including more than sixteen years of transaction-specific experience. He has gained extensive transaction knowledge from providing advisory services for over 300 transactions.

He specializes in the execution of buy-side and sell-side due diligence and advising clients throughout the lifecycle of a transaction. He has extensive experience with purchase price adjustments, transaction structuring and analysis of business plans and forecasts. Mark has been involved in all aspects from initial structuring through closing working capital and purchase price adjustments for both sell-side and buy-side transactions. Mark coordinates domestic and international projects relating to multinational companies and serves Fortune 1000 clients including Bank of America Corporation, Nucor Corporation, SPX Corporation, Snyder’s-Lance, Inc., Sysco Corporation, Apollo Education Group, Inc. and Koch Industries, Inc.

Mark serves on the Board of Trustees for East Carolina University (“ECU”).  He served as the Audit Committee Chairperson for the 2013/2014 and 2014/2015 fiscal years. Mark continues to serve on the ECU College of Business Advisory Council.

He is a CPA in the State of North Carolina and the State of Texas.  He received his bachelor and master degrees in accounting from East Carolina University.
